Major: Chemical Engineering

Mariam Malik is a Chemical Engineering major and is expecting to graduate in May 2020. She is returning to the board to serve as VC Operations for The Energy Coalition this year. Mariam has experienced a variety of different roles in the energy industry through previous internships. She spent her summer interning at Shell Deer Park as an Instrumentation & Process Controls intern. Previously, she spent a spring semester as a co-op at Albemarle Corporation doing process engineering work. She also spent one summer as a process controls intern at Air Liquide Electronics in Fremont, California. Mariam plans to work in industry after graduating and hopes to pursue an MBA after gaining a few years of work experience.

Mariam is also a member of the Honors College and a proud recipient of the Terry scholarship, which is a 4-year scholarship awarded based on academic achievement and demonstrated leadership. She enjoys keeping busy and loves to travel, go running, and cook in her free time. She is excited to share her passion for energy with fellow students and is grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Board.
