About the event

UH Energy invites you to attend the fourth event in the 2019-2020 Energy Symposium Series | Critical Issues in Energy, "Energy Infrastructure: Bottleneck or Enabler."

The last summer in Texas has been an exemplar to the challenges we face with the energy infrastructure. The aging and “old energy” generation infrastructure is increasingly being retired and much of the reliance of base-load power generation from these sources is becoming ineffective. In the meantime, the new generation and storage infrastructure is displaying the classic early technology challenges and not as reliable and causing significant economic impact. Similarly, the shift of the transmission and distribution infrastructure is still ongoing and is starting to show challenges that are in the present and might cause a significant pause in the energy transition.
