American Society of Mechanical Engineers @ University of Houston
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers at the University of Houston is comprised of Undergraduate and Graduate students with a focus on Mechanical Engineering majors. You’ll often find us volunteering at university events for recruiting such as Cat’s Back, or at some of the social events such as the BOS Party. Most of all, you can find us in the classroom as students excelling in engineering. Our members acquire some excellent internship opportunities with companies such as Marathon Oil, Boeing, FMC Technologies Inc., CenterPoint Energy, and many more. We help our members get jobs through our LinkedIn alumni group and by providing fun and informative career prep. So who are we? Well, hopefully you.
Women's Energy Network
Our mission is to encourage college students to learn about the wide-breadth of career opportunities available in the energy industry, help college students develop networking skills and strategies, and enhance personal and professional growth. Women’s Energy Network- University of Houston Student Chapter is open to both genders, and welcomes all majors and diversity among our members.
Women’s Energy Network- University of Houston Student Chapter is dedicated to assisting students meet and network with professionals in the energy industry, and learn about a variety of disciplines and opportunities in the energy field. We also provide free access to Women’s Energy Network’s webinars, opportunities to attend the Women’s Energy Network luncheons with relevant energy industry speakers, and additional leadership opportunities for our student members.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers is the largest individual-member organization serving managers, engineers, scientists and other professionals worldwide in the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry. UH SPE is focused on providing many opportunities for its members to succeed and continuously learn more about the Oil and Gas industry. We offer a unique opportunity to contribute to the profession through our programs and activities and many of our accomplishments are driven by our dedicated members and student officers.

Subsea Engineering Society (SES) is a growing body of engineers, technologists, and geo-technicians dedicated to promoting innovation and excellence within the subsea industry.
Society of Underwater Technology - Subsea Engineering Society (SUT-SES) is a growing body of engineers, technologists, and geotechnicians dedicated to promoting innovation and excellence within the subsea industry. Subsea Engineering is an inherently complex and unique multidisciplinary specialty within the oil and gas industry. Therefore, the society is designed to serve technical professionals in all aspects of the Subsea Engineering field.
The University of Houston has the nation's first graduate program in Subsea Engineering. This program is producing the first generation of formally trained subsea engineers in the United States. The training encompasses an enhanced graduate curriculum including lectures on basic engineering sciences and the best practice used in Subsea Engineering.
